Social media policy

Social media policy

These principles apply to anyone engaging with us via our twitter, instagram or our facebook group. Comments posted on this site are moderated before becoming visible to ensure compliance with this policy.

Engage Positively

Our social media pages are primarily for the discussion of positive ways to improve Mill Road via the reduction of traffic. We welcome constructive discussion about our ideas from anyone who is interested in serious debate on this topic. Any comments that contain abusive or threatening language, or contain factual untruths, will (where possible) be deleted, and in any case the author will be blocked.

Be Kind and Courteous

We’re all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let’s treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.

No Hate Speech or Bullying

Make sure that everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn’t allowed, and degrading comments about things such as race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.

No Spam

Relevant Mill Road promotions are welcome. Give more than you take. Self-promotion, spam and irrelevant links aren’t allowed. However, if you have a Mill Road business, event or news item to then you are welcome to share.

Respect Everyone’s Privacy

Being part of our Facebook group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. What’s shared in the group should stay in the group.
